'Daily Baby' is now 'Daily Drawing'

In an attempt to continue drawing and posting every day, I have decided to change the title of the ‘Daily Baby' project to 'Daily Drawing’.

I need to expand the content of what I draw, especially drawing things I usually avoid.
So for the next month or so, I will be drawing dudes and dudes only! :)

Daily Baby sketches..!

I've been so bad at keeping up to date with things on here!! I'm sorry blogger! :( One day I will actually organise myself properly in terms of social media at least..

For the meantime, here are a few sketches I have been doing as a daily drawing project (which you can view in full on my tumblr) Please go there to check the sketches out too.

And yes.. there are some Doctor Who related 'Daily Babies' in there too... as well as one from the musical, "Next to Normal" which I have listened to a billion times this year.. (it's amazing everyone should watch/listen to this. London please bring it to the stage here pleaseohplease???)

 Hope you like! :)

New Daily Sketching Project!

I call it my "Daily Baby" project. I aim to complete a drawing/sketch/doodle every day (for as long as I can) to draw any babies/toddlers/kids I see!

For the past few months I have been working in Islington, London. It's a really nice area, with lots of good shops and cafes; full of babies! I have been able to draw a few from memory, but now I have decided to dedicate a few minutes every day to producing a sketch to upload and share with you all.

I am mainly uploading these sketches on my art tumblr ( jess-oui.tumblr.com ) So please check them out there if you have a tumblr account. Though I will upload a few on here too!

So here are the first 3 entries!

Primary School May Fair Sketch Day!

Today I went to my younger cousins' Primary school for their annual May Fair. There are lots of stalls and this year I was able to have my own stall where I could sketch some of the attendees!

It was such a great day, although the weather took a turn for the worse (as to be expected in England). So although it started bright sunny and very windy (note the yellow stickers holding everything in place), it ended cold, rainy and windy by the end of the fair.

The kids were so sweet. They were between 4 and 8 years old, and they were just the greatest sitters! Conversation-wise, we covered most things, from favourite animals, favourite school subjects to favourite TV programmes. (Two girls in particular were really knowledgeable and had some really insightful thoughts on Doctor Who! Seriously, they were really intelligent.. I was intimidated...)

So all in all, it was a terrific day. I wasn't able to take any photos of the sketches I completed, as I didn't have enough time! (There was a constant queue of kids so I couldn't really stop to fuss with a camera) But at the end of the fair, my stall was the last one to be disassembled, and unfortunately I missed out on drawing three kids (One of which started to cry, bless her!) Though hopefully I will be able to draw them again at the school's Pre-School Fair which I will be attending in July. I also gave the little girl who was upset one of my business cards which seemed to cheer her up :)

A good few people took my business cards and sounded interested in commissions, which would be fantastic too.

Absolutely knackered by the end of it, but what a great time I had!

Thanks to all the kids who sat for me! You were awesome! :)
